“André Chiang’s vocal instruction has been invaluable to me as I pursue singing - especially professional ensemble work - as a more significant component of my musical career. His technical pedagogy is an excellently-balanced combination of function and sensation, which is magic in the hands of an intuitive and creative teacher with his precise ear, eye, and vocal model. By all accounts, too, our lessons are great fun. He is a joy to work with!
I've enjoyed new and exciting exploration of the capabilities and potential of my voice, and André’s teaching has facilitated immediate tangible improvements in all facets of my singing life, which has opened doors to more work and opportunities. He has also helped me develop routines for vocal health and consistency that suit my lifestyle as a frequent traveler with a busy and variable schedule. And, as a conductor, our time together has directly enriched my group vocal pedagogy. I highly recommend voice lessons with André!”

"My experience working with Mr. André Chiang this past year has been an absolute wonder. As a gender fluid transgender, I have taken on both male and female roles. Mr. Chiang has been able to work with me to strengthen both voices, focusing primarily on the male modal voice. His technique of maintaining optimum oropharyngeal spacing, with minimal excess subglottal pressure, constant and adequate breath flow, and freedom in the bodies natural resonators has helped me achieve more volume and projection in my sound while compensating for tonsils and adenoids that are twice and triple the normal size. It has given me more masculine and distinguishable sound. With his guidance, I have sung songs and roles like Sebastian from “The Little Mermaid” all the way to Celie from “The Color Purple”. Mr. Chiang, during lessons, is very forward with vocal progression and has a realism of the professional world that reinforces my want to continue my studies with him. I recommend him for beginners to professional singers and I promise that you will not be disappointed."

“Andre Chiang has fundamentally modified my understanding of vocal production, and has given me tools to continue the process on my own journey. Being an Avocational singer I have been privileged to participate in diverse musical venues, but do not have a formal education in music or singing. Andre assisted me in understanding the basics, has great ability in identifying tension points that block a healthy release of tone, and continues to work towards releasing such tension. In a sense this has given me a fresh start with a voice that is again healthy.”
-Grant Parks, Avocational Singer; Dayton, OH
“André Chiang is an amazing voice teacher! He talks with, rather than at, his students, and has a wide array of knowledge in the anatomy and physiology of the human body and how that relates back to singing! André notices when his students don’t quite understand what he says and will readily present whatever concept in a different way, so as to clear up any confusion! André cares for his students and helps them get ready to perform, audition, teach, etc.!”
-Jonathan Thomas, Louisiana State University student majoring in Biological Engineering and minoring in Music; Baton Rouge, LA
Coaching with André has been the best decision I’ve made in my Undergrad. André has gone above and beyond to help me improve my craft. His unique and adaptive style of teaching ranges from pedagogical to hands on learning (of course with the students permission) to spectrogram. The ways in which I have grown as an overall musician solely due to his mentorship and advice are numerous. I was able to finish in 1st place in the Louisiana State NATS Auditions only because of the coachings and advice that André gave me. The experience he has a professional singer and trained vocologist has gifted him with an immense amount of knowledge on multiple music genres. Whenever I work with André, I know I’m in a safe space in which I can discuss any problems I’m having at all. Without his guidance and expertise, I wouldn’t be where I am today.
